Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
Great news! Thanks for this release, guys!

Anyway there are still 2 bugs in I've reported earlier: Users and Roles don't work for Informix 9.21 and 9.40.

@Hans
Unfortunately I'm still having trouble with this table with two secondary keys as a primary key.

Thanks again!
Dirk

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
Dirk, Sorry I simply forgot the Users/Roles issue. Attached you'll find an updated database profile for Informix. Save it as DBVIS-HOME/resources/profiles/informix.xml (replace the existing informix.xml file). Let me know if it works better. We'll look into the NullPointerException problem. Regards Roger

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
Bjørn, What database are you using? If possible, can you post/email the DDL for the actual table? Regards Roger support@minq.se

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
Users/Roles seems to work with this xml (no exception anymore on Informix 9.41 with JDBC 3.00 and correct display of default_role on IDS 10) And THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! for bringing back the "old" (theme aware) Windows style :-) :-) Bye Peter

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
Roger,
I miss the dbvis.vmoptions file. Is the way to increase the memory changed ? When I load the lang.sql file I see a cpu going crazy and I assume that when I give it a little more memory to play with it will behave better.

regards,
Ronald.

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
Hi Roger,

it seems, that the commit/rollback icons and menu items always are disabled.
I've set "Auto Commit" at Tool and Connect-Properties to false.

Thanks for your great work.

Regards
Frank

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available - undo format long sql
Hi Roger,

I just tried to format the long sql and it worked and pretty fast too. Given the length of the text I can imagine it is a problem to undo this
but in that case I expect undo to give a warning or that it is disabled. What dbvis does now is delete words from the sql from the end.

that is not what one expects from an undo operation. Redo undoes the delete operation so that is ok.

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
Hi Dirk, Sorry the fixes for other problems didn't fix the problem you have found for the table with two foreign keys. Can you please set the debug log level to "Debug" and detail to "Full" in Tool Properties just before you click on the DDL tab for the table gives the error ,and post the resulting debug output here? Thanks, Hans

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
Ronald, You just need to create the dbvis.vmoptions file and put the options in it. It is not created with the .zip variant of the installer. Regards Roger

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
We are using DB2 for IBM AS/400..

But I don't get any DDL from DbVisualizer, I only get this error message when choosing the DDL tab..:

An error occured while performing the operation:
[SQL0204] TABLES in SYSCAT type *FILE not found.

Let me know if you need more info....

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available
Bjørn, DDL generation for DB2 on AS/400 is not supported. Using the DB2 profile in DbVisualizer to access an AS/400 DB2 database is nothing I recommend as it is developed for DB2 running on UNIX/Windows. The DB2 z/OS profile is for DB2 running on mainframes. Regards Roger

Re: DbVisualizer 5.1.1.9 now available

I stumbled across the following error (included below) while using the navigator feature.

It looks like the query DBVis uses isn't correct for the field data type.

As it's a "char for bit data" field the value should be enclosed as follows:

x'20021006123949311084000000'

NOT simply

'20021006123949311084000000'

The x is all important. This is pretty consisten and this happens across all char for bit data fields I've tried through the navigator.

An error occured while executing the database request for:
DB2/6000
SQL08023
IBM DB2 JDBC Universal Driver Architecture
2.8.46

Short message:
Illegal Conversion

The command that caused the problem:
select * from SCHEMA.TABLE where FIELD = '20021006123949311084000000'

Long Message:
Illegal Conversion

Details:
