Sybase ASE: I get an UnsupportedEncodingException: xxx when connecting Print

I get the following when connecting to Sybase ASE with the JConnect driver:

JZ006: Caught IOException: java.io.IOException:
JZ0I6: An error occured converting UNICODE to the charset used by the server.
Error message: java.io.CharConversionException: java.io.UnsupportedEncodingException: hp-roman8

The solution is to set a driver property (in the Properties tab for the connection):

charset = iso_1
