Vertica: Executing SQL takes very long time Print

Some users have reported that executing SELECTs in Vertica may take very long time to complete. A common pattern when this happens is when there are embedded comments in the SQL statement.

To fix this make sure Strip Comments when Executing in the SQL Commander menu is turned on. This will remove any comments before the SQL is sent to the database server for processing.
