QuestDB: Servers older than 9.2.1 need an older driver. Print

The QuestDB driver (PostgreSQL JDBC driver 42.7.6 and later) reads the current catalog with select current_catalog. QuestDB only supports this from version 9.2.1, so with an older QuestDB server the driver fails with:

ERROR: Invalid column: current_catalog

This affects several parts of DbVisualizer that read metadata from the database, for example:

• Columns in the Databases tree are not listed for tables.
• The Columns tab does not show any columns.
• Auto-Completion of columns does not work.

  When you connect, DbVisualizer also shows the notification "<connection> needs an older driver".

 Resolution

Switch the QuestDB driver to version 42.7.4 in Tools->Driver Manager, see Driver Manager. Alternatively, upgrade QuestDB to 9.2.1 or later.
