browsing through database links ?

Would it be possible to add a feature that gives us a schema browser through a database link ? This would be a very nice to have feature when using distributed databases. Ronald.

Re: browsing through database links ?
Good morning Roger, to start with, I miss the db_link as an object in the schema tree for the dba. Next, if it is going to be added, it would be very nice to be able to 'open' a new schema browser - maybe as a child of the db_link - to browse the database that the db_link connects to. This could make debug a distributed application a lot easier. Sure, we already can do the queries using a database link but not use the schema browser in a remote database. This also would make a unique feature that all others are also missing. Don't forget that the remote database also can have database links. When working with database links we use synonyms in the local database that point to objects in the remote database. In many cases those synonyms are for public and the public synonyms are also missing from the schema tree. As always, I use oracle. regards, Ronald.
