Import Table Data -- To allow Multi-Char delimeter

[This topic is migrated from our old forums. The original author name has been removed]

I came across a situation where I could not import data into a table because all the delimeters that I used existsted within the data and dbVis would get confused and delimit columns when it was not supposed to. I would be usefull if dbVis would recognize multi character delimeters (it allows for more than 1 character to be input, but does not recognize it when performing an import) . For example, ~[D]~ What do you think?

Re: Import Table Data -- To allow Multi-Char delimeter
Alex, I will add a RFE so that the import functionality accepts multi character delimiters. Thanks! Best Regards Roger

Hi Alex, No. (The reason is mainly that it will require a heavily re-written CSV file parser). Check the release notes what's in this version: http://www.minq.se/products/dbvis/doc/relnotes/index.jsp Best Regards Roger
