cannot select "group by" on the column tab in the query builder when

selected the column but the check box for the group by will not select.

Ernest, The Group By check box is enabled only if you select an aggregate function. Regards Roger

Hi Ernest, Group By for the column with an aggregate function is not enabled, if that is what you mean, because a column cannot both have an aggregate function and be used for grouping. If this does not solve the problem, please post a screenshot. Best Regards, Hans

Hans, see attached screen shot. notice that the Grouping tab is grayed out.

Frank, In the Columns list you need to select an aggregate function for one of the columns. Once you do that the Group By column and its check boxes will be enabled. Click what column to group by and then the Grouping tab will be enabled. I hope this helps. Regards Roger
