Re: DbVisualizer 90.1850 BETA released
I am able to navigate to the schema by typing first few character(s) of the schema name in 8.0.11, it is not moving in this beta version(64 bit - With Java, Using windows 7 Professional).

Re: DbVisualizer 90.1850 BETA released
Rajesh,
Thanks for the report!
This will be fixed and improved in the next beta. The improvement is that you will be able to jump to next/previous match using up/down keyboard buttons and the Ctrl+A key binding is be used to highlight all matches.
Thanks again.
Regards
Roger

Re: DbVisualizer 90.1850 BETA released
One massive improvement here would be to also add a quick-filter combibox just like the one that already exists for grids.
In this way, if I were working on our electronic documents system I could just type edocs_ into the filter and anything not containing edocs_ would vanish.
This would work in addition to the existing object filters, the advantage being you can change it on the fly very quickly.
I can't just alter the main object filters for this because I already have a complex permanent filter and the multiple filter bug from version 7 still exists, preventing me adding further filter rows:

A quick filter would be very handy here for when you know the partial name of the tables you're looking for, especially when comparing the same table in several databases or servers. I don't expect the filter contents would be saved anywhere and thus it would be blanked when you reopened DbVis.

Re: DbVisualizer 90.1850 BETA released
Hi Vince,
Quick filtering the databases list is something we've looked at. The problem is that the loading of database objects is done in the background and that is not supported by the quick filter functionality.
We have a ticket to look into this and also the schema filtering in general. I doubt that we will manage to get it done for the 9.0 version.
Thanks!

Re: DbVisualizer 90.1850 BETA released
Thanks Roger,
I can appreciate the difficulties involved with that approach.
I notice though that if I click directly on the +Tables+ object, it already shows all the tables in a grid with a quick filter.
The only thing missing is that I can't then open any of the tables from that grid. All I can use it for is copying and pasting.
Would it be possible to enable a right-click, Open Table in Window option for that grid or better yet, add the same alt-click and alt-shift-click functionality as in the main object tree?

Re: DbVisualizer 90.1850 BETA released
Hi,
In the Tables list, you may now right-click and run "Open in Tab" for the selected tables.
This is part of the latest 9.0.3 version:
