Craig,
You refer to MySQL in the text but your images contains SQL Server screenshots. I assume you mean that you have problems to connect to SQL Server?
Is the SQL Server running on port 1433? Since the ping in DbVisualizer fails it indicates there is no process running on localhost and port 1433. Have you tried using IP address instead of localhost?

Roger
Thanks for the reply Roger, and yes I do mean SQL server.
How would I be able to check what port the SQL server is running on?
I have tried my local IP address and same result.
Craig,
Please use Google to find out what port SQL Server is running on:

Difficult to find to be honest, but there is no reason why it wouldnt be the default 1433 or 1434 and I think the challenge I have is that this is a work laptop and is stopping the service actually running properly which is why it is not picking up.

Hi I have just recently downloaded DBVis and I am trying to connect it to a local mySQL database.
I believe I have done everything correct, but I am struggling to connect to the Database.
Please see my attachments for more details on the what I have done.
Looking forward to some assistance.
Thanks.
